Best Practices for Insurance Placement and Claims Resolution

Michael S. Levine Counsel, Hunton & Williams

Mike represents and counsels policyholders in complex insurance recovery and business disputes. He also handles matters involving reinsurance disputes, contractual disputes and claims for lost profits due to contractual breach. Mike also serves as an associate editor of the ABA’s insurance coverage journal, Coverage, and is editor as well as a contributing author for the Hunton & Williams Insurance Recovery Blog.

Mike is admitted to practice in Virginia, New York, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, and before the US Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits and the US District Courts for the District of Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Southern District of New York.

 
Glenn F. Brown, ARM, LIA

Glenn is a Senior Claims Consultant in Beecher Carlson’s Large Account Casualty Practice.   He joined Beecher Carlson in September 2010 after gaining more than 20 years of claims experience in the insurance and risk management consulting industries.  In his role, Glenn is responsible for providing superior claims consulting and advocacy services to clients in order to properly manage their claims and drive down costs.  Using tailored initiatives, including traditional claim reviews and claim audits along with innovative claim closure projects and performance guaranty arrangements, Glenn ensures that claims are given the attention and expertise necessary to consistently achieve cost effective resolutions.      

Glenn began his claims career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in 1987 upon graduation from Colby College. He held adjuster, supervisory, and managerial level positions in auto, general liability and workers’ compensation units during his seven years with Liberty Mutual. In 1994, he joined Albert Risk Management Consultants as a Claims Consultant and later became a Senior Claims and Risk Management Consultant. At Albert Risk Management Consultants he designed claims cost control programs, performed insurer and TPA claim audits, conducted claim reviews, served as an expert witness and ran training sessions on wide ranging loss management topics. He also published regularly on claims and risk management topics.

Glenn attained the Associate in Risk Management designation and is also a licensed insurance advisor.

Jennifer E. White Associate Hunton & Williams 

Jenn litigates civil matters in federal and state court. She has represented individuals, local governments, and commercial entities from a diverse range of industries, including insurance, energy, consumer products, food and beverages, and real estate. Her work primarily focuses on insurance coverage advice and litigation, and the development of insurance strategies for corporate clients, including with respect to cyber liabilities.

She is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the US District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. She served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Charles J. Maxfield of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit of Virginia; and interned in the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho as well as the Criminal Appellate Section of the US Department of Justice.
