Michael Liebowitz is the Director of Risk Management and Insurance for New York University.
Previously, he was director of risk management, safety and security for Bridgeport Hospital & Healthcare System Inc. in Bridgeport, Connecticut for 17 years. During his tenure at the company, which is the largest employer in Bridgeport, he single-handedly created the risk management department that supported the activities of five companies.
Prior to joining, Bridgeport Hospital & Healthcare System Inc., Mr. Liebowitz was an insurance specialist for New York University Medical Center. Mr. Liebowitz graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in 1982.
Mr. Liebowitz currently serves on RIMS Board of Directors, where he has served as President (2006-2007), Vice President and Treasurer as well as on the Member and Chapter Services Committee and Audit Committee. In addition, he is an active member of RIMS on the chapter level as well as the national level. He served as the president of the RIMS Fairfield/Westchester Chapter for five years.
