Speaker Biography
Jason Clement – Methanex Risk Management Director
Jason is the Director of Risk Management & Process Safety at Methanex Corporation in Vancouver. He comes from an engineering background and has worked in Australia, the UK, New Zealand and now Canada. For the last twelve years he has been working in the field of risk management: 2 years in his current role with Methanex, 3 years as the Risk & Assurance Manager at an oil refinery in New Zealand, 3 years as the Corporate Risk Manager at a regional water utility in New Zealand and 4 years as a property risk consultant with Marsh in Manchester, England. He has two young children, aged nine and eleven. Outside work you are most likely to find Jason attending his children’s sports, pottering in the garden, walking/running the local trails, or sampling the various craft beers in region.
Lois Gardiner – National Practice Leader, Aon Global Risk Consulting
Lois is the national Practice leader for Aon Global Risk Consulting practice in Canada. Lois has been with Aon for four years. Prior to Aon Lois spent 11 years of her career as a risk manager with Shell in Canada, Switzerland and the UK working in all business lines including Shell insurance captive. Lois spent 7 years at Canadian Pacific Railway as their Managing Director Risk Management. Within her portfolio was insurance procurement, business continuity planning, policy and procedure governance, internal control framework, insurance claims recovery, risk allocation framework and the Enterprise Risk Management program. Lois has two daughters, 17 and 13 years of age and is passionate about skiing, painting and more recently hiking.
