Michael Petersen has worked with CMT clients for over 20 years and is the National Leader for the

Communications, Media & Technology Practice in Canada. As the practice leader he is involved in the

organization and delivery of innovative, leading edge insurance solutions for the highly fluid and

evolving needs of CMT clients. As technology and cyber exposures have migrated to other classes of

business Mike has also work closely with retailers, healthcare and manufacturers to help them

understand these exposures.

Tim is an Information Security Professional, with 29 years in Information Technology, 19 years of that

focused on securing Information assets in a business friendly and collaborative manner. He has

experience in Manufacturing, R&D, Telecommunications and Education, the last 3 years holding the

CISO position at Carleton University.  A couple of his most memorable experiences were leading the

Information Security Governance of the networking and telephony infrastructure deployed for the 2010

Olympic games, and responding to a significant Ransomware incident at the University. In his spare

time, Tim enjoys cycling and photography with his family.
