Risk for breakfast with a side of safety!

What are the best ways for Risk Managers to influence their stakeholders to work in a risk-aware culture? In order to integrate a risk-aware culture with the priorities of profitability and production volume, Risk Managers need to engage their employees at every level of an organization. Sometimes traditional communication strategies don’t translate well to other departments – so it’s time to expand the landscape, open new doors and excite managers and line employees with the positive possibilities a risk-aware culture can provide.

Our presenter, Eva LaBonte, serves as the Risk Manager at Washington County in Hillsboro, Oregon. Previously she was the Workers’ Compensation Program Manager for Nike, Inc. and her previous role at Nike included event risk management, Risk Management Information Systems and insurance and indemnity for global contracts.

Eva was a Risk Management Analyst and claims manager at a regional water services company, a University, and a fire district for over 15 years, where she managed workers’ compensation, property, auto and liability claims and employee benefits.

She is a Board member and past President of the Oregon RIMS chapter, and serves on the National RIMS Standards & Practices Council. Eva has been a speaker at numerous national, regional and local conferences, and has a M.S. in Organizational Development, a BA in Business Management and Psychology. She earned her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and has taught the ARM Principles and Practices course since 2007.
