Scott Clark is the risk and benefits officer at the school board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, where he has been creating strategic risk programs for the 4th largest school board in the nation for 25 years.
Mr. Clark received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Illinois, College of Commerce. He obtained his Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) designation from the Insurance Institute of America and his Certified Educational Risk Manager accreditation from the State of Florida.
Mr. Clark has been a member of the Florida Educational Risk Managers Association (FERMA) since 1989, serving as President from 1991-1992. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003, and a FERMA Hall of Fame Award in 2010. In 2007, Mr. Clark was named to Business Insurance Magazine’s Risk Manager of the Year Honor Roll.
Mr. Clark was President of RIMS in 2011 and is currently serving on the Board of Directors and Chair of the Society's RiskPac Board of Trustees. He has served on RIMS board since 2000 in various capacities, including Treasurer and Secretary. He has been a member of the Society since 1987 has served on RIMS Member & Chapter Services and RIMS Safety and Health Committee. He is a founder of RIMS Greater Miami Chapter where he served as president from 1992-1993, 2003-2004 and 2009-2010. He has been the Chair of the Florida Joint Chapters Conference three times, serving in 1997, 2004, and 2010.
He is currently a member of the State and Local Government Benefit Association (1999-present), Public Risk and Insurance Management Association (1988-present) and board member Florida Health Care Coalition (2003-present). Most recently, he was appointed a member of the Miami-Dade County Compensation and Benefits Review Committee.
