What Kind of Expert Do I Need for This Loss?

Jim Nolt, PE

Course Description:

"What Kind of Expert Do I Need for This Loss? " is a presentation about the multi-discipline losses Mr. Nolt has examined in the last 20 years
or so. In this presentation emphasis is placed on the characteristics of the loss and what kind of expertise is most likely to be necessary from
the expert to best identify, to understand and to address the issues at hand. Included is an overview of the 10,000+ types of experts available
narrowed down to the 18 types of engineers recognized by the Professional Engineers Board in California. The typical areas of engineering
experience and expertise are then related to the commonly existing loss profiles. The point of this presentation is that if you want a subrogation
claim to be found, to be documented and to be sustained at trial, both the type of investigator and the type of investigation you authorize as they
relate to the loss characteristics are critical components of the process.
