SHIFTING, INSURANCE, INDEMNITY AND RISK MANAGEMENT IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY
This session presented by Lee Wertz,
Partner at Harrison Bettis, highlights the tools for managing risk as well as
best practices for using education and training to reduce liability to third
parties and reduce workers’ compensation claims.
Lee Wertz has broad
experience as a trial lawyer ranging from catastrophic personal injury cases to
complex commercial litigation. Whether
standing on the side of a road at a post-accident investigation or cross-examining
witnesses at the courthouse, Lee has gained the trust of his clients to handle
cases throughout the State of Texas and across the United States. Lee works closely with clients and their risk
managers in the transportation, waste, security, and manufacturing sectors to
manage lawsuits and claims to achieve minimal interference with the client’s
business. His experience in commercial
litigation includes complex, multi-part commercial and residential construction
disputes, product failure and warranty claims.
Lee is a frequent speaker on litigation and insurance issues. Lee received his B.A. in 1990 from
Southwestern University, his J.D. from Baylor University in 1996, and was
admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1996.
