Throughout her more than 20-year career in risk management, Laura Langone has delivered exceptional leadership and results for some the world's most renowned organizations.
Currently, Laura is the Director of Enterprise Risk for Rivian, Inc., an electric vehicle manufacturer, responsible for managing corporate risk across the enterprise. Prior this Rivian, Laura was Director of Insurance Services for Airbnb, Inc., responsible for designing and placing consumer host insurance programs in 220 countries and captive insurance operations, claims management, actuarial, data analytics and go-to-market activities.
Prior to Airbnb, Laura was the Head of Insurance and Risk Management at PayPal, Inc. and Juniper Networks. Other prominent positions included: Director of Risk Management and Assistant Treasurer, Genentech, Inc.; West Coast Life Science Leader, Marsh; Director of Risk Management, Oracle Corporation; and insurance defense practice member, Gordon & Rees, LLP.
Laura is a builder of risk management programs and frameworks that support transparency for risk for the Board, scale and protect the balance sheet. Laura is challenged by difficult opportunities, especially emerging and shared economy companies that are in hybrid and regulated industries and agile ways of working.
Laura was the president of the Board of Directors for RIMS in 2020 and helped RIMS manage through the pandemic. She most recently was the ex officio of the Board on the Nominating and Governance Committee bringing in leadership and a solid pipeline of RIMS Board candidates. Laura has been a RIMS member since 1998 and has been an active leader in her local Silicon Valley Chapter. She also the chaired RIMS Enterprise Risk Management Committee in 2015.
Laura holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Golden Gate University School of Law and MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA from Simmons College.
