Taylor Smith is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Civil Engineering Degree. Taylor started his career at FM Global in 2013. Taylor began his career as a field engineer and held various roles inluding an account engineer, production underwriter, and as an Assistant Area Manager for FM Global. Taylor is currently an AVP, Senior Production Underwriter with FM Affiliated specializing in large complex property.
Hector Ortega is an experienced insurance advisor and consultant with over 17 years of commercial insurance expertise. Currently, he serves as an Insurance Advisor at McGriff Insurance Services out of San Antonio, TX, where he provides strategic risk management solutions to public sector clients. Hector is an active leader in the insurance industry, serving as a Board Member for the Independent Insurance Agents of San Antonio (IIASA) and the St. Mary’s University Risk Management Advisory Board (RMAB). He is also a Board Member of the Alamo Colleges Education Committee, contributing to the development of future professionals in the field. Hector is a founding member of Young Risk Professionals (YRP) San Antonio Chapter in 2013. Prior to McGriff, Hector held various leadership roles at Travelers Insurance, where he managed public entity risks and developed underwriting strategies across multiple coverage lines. A graduate of St. Mary’s University with a BBA in Corporate Financial Management and Risk Management, Hector is dedicated to advancing the insurance profession through mentorship, education, and industry collaboration.
