Topic: Communication and support from senior management and key stakeholders are critical to the success of risk and insurance professionals. How do we convey our risk methodology in terms they will understand? This presentation will help you build a bridge with the C-Suite and key stakeholders by demonstrating some useful tools and “blueprints” to communicate internal and external risk management objectives. It will highlight and simplify statistical reports that support the risk manager’s decision-making process, methodologies, and development of an executable and measurable risk strategy. Qualitative and quantitative examples will be provided to help risk and insurance professionals translate risk management data into narratives that build a bridge to an organization’s C-Suite.
Speaker: Anita Ingram, MBA, MTS, ARM-E, RIMS-CRMP, is Assistant VP & Chief Risk Officer, University of Cincinnati (UC), overseeing the Department of Enterprise Risk Management since 2014. Before this Anita was Chief Risk Officer at Southern Methodist University (‘96-2014), with responsibility for the Office of Risk Management functions, campus police, and security for the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas. She was Asst. Risk Manager at Chemed in Cincinnati (‘92-‘96). She is currently Adjunct Professor teaching Enterprise Risk Management at the UC Lindner College of Business. Anita was President of the University Risk Management & Insurance Association (URMIA) in 2014. RIMS Dallas-Fort Worth chapter recognized her among the region’s Top 8 Risk Management Professionals in the Region-2012, Business Insurance magazine named her among Top 25 Women to Watch-2014, and was awarded URMIA’s highest honor, Distinguished Risk Manager-2018. Anita serves on the board of RIMS Ohio Valley Chapter. She enjoys serving in her local church and at other non-profits and spending time with her family and friends.
