Paul Greve JD, RPLU is currently Executive Vice President/Senior Consultant in the Willis Healthcare Practice. In this role Paul monitors national and state malpractice trends as they affect insurance and risk management. Paul is a consultant to Willis clients on clinical risk management, malpractice litigation, patient safety, benchmarking, and quality issues.

Paul has twenty years experience in administrative positions at major teaching hospitals in Ohio, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University Hospitals of Cleveland, Saint Luke’s Hospital, and Columbus Children’s Hospital. Paul has held risk management and general counsel positions in addition to responsibility for quality, utilization review, safety, ethics, Joint Commission, and the Institutional Review Board. He has worked for two malpractice carriers, including The Medical Protective Company and has been in the insurance industry for fifteen years. Paul has been employed by Willis for eight years.

Paul has been a board member of both the Ohio and Indiana Societies for Healthcare Risk Management and is the past President of the Ohio Society for Healthcare Risk Management. He is currently a member of the Ohio Hospital Association’s Medical Malpractice Insurance and Risk Management Committee. He has received the Distinguished Fellow designation for career achievement from the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, as well as the Glenn Troyer Award for career achievement from the Indiana Society for Healthcare Risk Management.

Paul has published numerous articles and textbook chapters on risk management and medical-legal subjects. He has co-chaired national symposiums on medical professional liability insurance for the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. In 2002, Paul testified before Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s Select Task Force on Healthcare Professional Liability.

Paul received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and Juris Doctor from Capital University School of Law.
