Mr. Clark has been in the Risk Management and Insurance Industry for 40 years. He served as the Risk and Benefits Officer for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the fourth largest school district in the country for 30 years, prior to retiring in 2016. In that role, he managed the operational and enterprise-level risks as well as the comprehensive employee benefit program which covered all full-time and retired employees and eligible dependents. Since then, Mr. Clark has worked within the National Risk Control platform for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.as a Claim Advocate, Senior. In this role, he advocates for Gallagher Global Brokerage clients with difficult claims and coverage issues as well as providing risk management consulting services.
Mr. Clark has been a member of RIMS for over 30 years, serving on the Board of Directors from 2000 through 2012, serving as the society's President in 2011. He has served as Chair of the Florida Educational Conference four times. He was instrumental in creating the Greater Miami Chapter of RIMS in 1994 and has served as the chapter President three times. He currently serves as a Trustee for Risk Pac, the Society's Political Action Committee and chaired that committee for three years. He is a past recipient of the Ron Judd Heart of RIMS Award and the Richard W. Bland Memorial Award for his work on the External Affairs Committee and Legislative work both nationally and in Florida. In 2017 Mr. Clark was the recipient of the Harry and Dorothy Goodell Award which recognizes outstanding lifetime achievement in the field of risk management. In 2007 he was selected as a member of the Risk Management Hall of Fame for Business Insurance Magazine's Risk Manager of the Year and has served as a Judge for RIMS Risk Manager of the Year Award for the past several years. Mr. Clark works as the Risk Management liaison to The Council of Great City Schools, which provides support and educational services to the country's largest urban public schools.
