Bio

Robin Roeder is senior vice president of risk management for Sedgwick.  Joining Sedgwick in 2011, Robin developed the strategic risk management vision and framework for the company’s program.  Today, she leads operational risk management activities and oversees the management of claims, safety and loss control, physical security and travel risk management. She is also responsible for risk management planning and response related to business interruption, crisis management, and business resiliency.

Known for her commitment to industry education, Robin serves on the board of directors for the Spencer Educational Foundation. The organization awards scholarships and grants in risk management and insurance, facilitates internship opportunities, and offers university students exposure to professional risk managers on campus as a part of the academic program.  Robin actively participates in Spencer’s risk manager on campus program and has served as a judge for the Spencer-RIMS risk management challenge.  Additionally, she is a student mentor and judge advocate for the University of Mississippi School of Business Administration and Risk Management.  A highly regarded presenter, Robin is frequently invited to speak at many industry conferences and meetings as well as college and university campus events.

Additionally, she is a board of managers member of the Tennessee Self-Insurers’ Association, an organization dedicated to educating employers, insurers and service providers on workers’ compensation issues.

Robin was awarded the Ron Judd “Heart of RIMS” award in 2016 in recognition of her volunteer contributions to the Memphis RIMS Chapter.  During her tenure as chapter president, the Memphis RIMS Chapter steadily grew its membership, offered quality educational programs, and raised substantial money for student education.

Robin earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Memphis and later earned a master’s degree in risk management and insurance from Florida State University. She is a RIMS fellow and holds the certified risk manager and associate in risk management – ERM designations.
