Ron is Vice President Risk Management for NuStar Energy L.P. He manages all aspects of the corporate-wide property/casualty programs including insurance placement, premium allocations, surety bonds, risk analysis, establishing insurance contractor requirements, insurance clause contract negotiations and claims handling. Prior to joining NuStar, he spent 9 years at AT&T with responsibility for their corporate insurance and workers compensation program. The company generated workers compensation claim payments in excess of $100MM a year. He served on the Board of Directors of the Workers Compensation Research Institute from 2000 until 2007 and as Vice Chair from 2003-2007. He also spent 10 years in the insurance industry as a claims representative and supervisor. Ron received his BBA from Baylor University and his MBA from The George Washington University and has obtained his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations. He has served as a Director of the South Texas Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Chapter after serving various officer positions. He has also served on the St. Marys University Risk Management Program Advisory Board.
