Bio

Jonathan Peisner is the founder of Value Creation / Value Protection LLC - a financial & risk consulting practice focused on helping companies in the automotive industry create and protect value, with a particular focus on the automotive remarketing and salvage industries.  With over 30 years’ experience, Peisner’s specific skill sets relative to value creation / protection include investor relations, business and strategic planning, corporate finance, enterprise risk management, risk management and global treasury management.

 Prior to founding Value Creation / Value Protection,  Peisner served as Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management for Carmel, Indiana based KAR Global. (NYSE: KAR), a Fortune 1000 company.   Peisner began his automotive remarketing career in 2004 as an investor relations consultant to newly public ADESA, then was hired in 2005 to serve as its Vice President Investor Relations and Business Planning.  At ADESA / KAR, he played leadership roles in establishing the company’s Wall Street’s presence following its 2004 IPO, assisting with the company’s merger and LBO in April 2007 and reestablishing KAR’s Wall Street presence following its December 2009 IPO. Peisner was previously ranked  the #2 IRO in Retailing/Specialty Stores sector by Institutional Investor Magazine

 In addition to overseeing KAR’s traditional risk & insurance function, Peisner established KAR’s enterprise risk management function in 2016.  In his capacity as Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, Peisner was responsible for reporting on the status of KAR’s enterprise level risks to KAR’s executive committee and Board Risk Committee.

 Peisner is a CPA who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Wayne State University.  Peisner is a member of NIRI and a former member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable Steering Committee.  He has conducted investor relations seminars for NIRI and written articles for IR Update Magazine and has also taught accounting and finance courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and serves on the boards of his HOA and the Austin MSU Alumni Association.  He is also an active volunteer with the Central Texas Food Book.

 

Peisner enjoys golf, running and travel.  He and his wife Cheryl reside in Cedar Park, Texas and have three grown children.
