HalifaxNova Scotia

Halifax will be hosting the Canadian Risk and Insurance Management Conference from September 16- 20, 2007.  Educational sessions will be held on Monday September 17 and Tuesday September 18, 2007.  It is expected that more than 500 delegates will attend this conference.  Delegates come from a variety of insurance and risk management disciplines and across the full spectrum of industries, NGO’s and government institutions.

Papers:   The program committee of the RIMS Canada Conference 2007 is encouraging all interested authors, researchers and experts to submit a précis of ideas and topics for presentation at this conference.  Although all topics and ideas will be considered, preference will be given to original research on the broad subject area of risk management, including but not limited to risk finance, risk control and general management.  All disciplines, including traditional hazard risk, will be considered to be in scope.  We are planning on both Advanced and intermediate/entry streams and papers could fall within either steam.  It is expected that successful papers would be presented at the conference by the author(s).  Copies of final papers will be provided to all delegates in the form of a CD.

Theme:      LESSONS OF THE PAST -  BEACONS TO THE FUTURE

Papers will be reviewed by an ad hoc panel, which will select the successful papers.  Authors are encouraged to include their Curriculum Vitae with their précis along with an outline of their past experience with oral presentation.

Deadline:   All précis must be received no later than midnight, December 8th, 2006.  The committee will review all submissions and advise the successful candidates by January 26, 2007.

Submissions: All submissions should be sent to Adib Samaan, Co-chair, Program Committee 2007 RCC.  If by mail, they should be sent to 300 Union Street, PO Box 5777, Saint John, NB, E2L 4M3 or by email to samaan.adib@jdirving.com.

All inquiries should be directed to Adib Samaan at the email address listed above or by phone at (506) 633-3270.
