Topic: Economic outlook and predictions of the oil & energy markets.

II. William (Buff) Brown – President, WHB Energy Research LLC (Houston)

Topic: The "Speculator": The Oil Producer's Best Friend? The emerging role of the non-commercial in crude oil markets, factors that determine non-commercial decision-making, examples of hedging opportunities that non-commercials have provided the oil producer, and (in the context of a world oil market outlook)alternative hedging strategies for producers.

2:30-4:00 Panel B - Quantitative framework for the energy industry

I. Hans Tuenter, Ph.D. – Senior Model Developer – Energy Markets, Ontario Power Generation (Toronto)

Topic: A high-level overview of how we built our structural models and implemented the computational

framework to assist senior management.

II. Kevin Kindall, Ph.D. – Director of Quantitative Analysis, ConocoPhillip (Houston)

Topic: A general framework for testing hedging strategies. The use of monte carlo process to produce a cumulative distribution function (CDF), which can represent after tax operating income, net revenue, or some other metric of interest to management. The reshaping of the CDF shows the effect of a hedge and the likelihood of reaching certain planning targets.
