Facing Data Privacy and Catastrophic Exposures: An Introduction

Thought I should introduce my panel that is occurring on Monday, April 20th at 1:45pm.  It is called 'Facing Data Privacy and Catastrophic Exposures' and will feature one of the leading privacy brokers in the US and the privacy leader of Lockheed Martin.

I am excited for the interaction with organizations that face privacy and security risks on a daily basis.  When you are in the insurance business, much of the conference interaction that takes place is with brokers and other insurance carriers in the industry.  While this is certainly important, I look forward to feeling the pulse and hearing the angst and issues of risk manager's who have to deal with the trials and tribulations associated with keeping up with privacy laws and dealing with security breaches.

While data privacy and network security panels have been done before, they all seem to hold to the same script. They talk about the same big lawsuits and the same ways information can be accessed. But how have organizations evolved to handle data privacy issues? How has the position of chief privacy officer arisen to unprecedented relevance?

To make this panel as energetic and entertaining as possible, I invite you to post your questions and comments to the blog.

Look forward to seeing you on the 20th!
