Craig McAllister is the Assistant Vice President of Risk Management for the University of Miami and currently serves as the President of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA). He was previously at Cornell University in a similar role and has over 25 years of risk management experience in both industry and higher education. Craig’s duties include providing strategic risk management direction for the University and advice, training, and consultation to the academic and medical units of the institution. Craig has oversight for the University’s Enterprise Risk Management Program, the University Captive Insurance Company and the self-insured and purchased property, liability, healthcare professional liability and workers compensation programs, including management of claims. Craig is a regular presenter at national conferences, he is the past president of the Upstate NY Chapter of RIMS, a board member of the Greater Miami Chapter of RIMS and has served on the Board of URMIA since 2017, including URMIA President for 2023-2024. Craig holds the CPCU, ARM, AIC, and AIS designations.
