The MN RIMS Chapter invites you to participate in a holiday volunteer event on the afternoon of:
Wednesday, December 12 from 01:30 PM-04:30 PM.
Our group is registered to sort and pack food items for a local food shelf in Golden Valley.
Second Harvest Heartland works to reinvent hunger relief through leadership and innovation. As the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger relief organization, our goal is not only to help our hungry neighbors today, but to provide the means for everyone to be fed tomorrow. In 2010 alone, we collected and distributed over 60 million pounds of food. Second Harvest Heartland is a member of Feeding America, a national network of more than 200 food banks across the United States.
Second Harvest Heartland WEST is located at:
6325 Sandburg Rd. Suite 1700
Golden Valley, MN 55427

Parking:
There are some parking spaces available in front of our suite (1700) at the northwest corner of the building. You will see a Second Harvest Heartland sign on the side of the building near our entrance. Please consider carpooling if you come with a work group during the day. There is some overflow parking in the back of the building, opposite the truck docks. You can also park on Sandburg Road - either side of the street, respecting limitations during the afternoon on school days. Please do not park in front of the offices for South-Town Refrigeration and Wheel Pros. Thank you.
What To Wear:
Second Harvest Heartland's West is a working warehouse. Please dress in comfortable clothing - t-shirts or sweatshirts with jeans are fine. Shorts are acceptable, so long as they are of a style that will not cause offense to anyone. You MUST wear closed toe shoes - no sandals! Any volunteers who arrive without closed toe shoes will not be able to work in the warehouse.
Youth Volunteers:
All volunteers who are under the age of 18 need to present a signed parental waiver when they arrive to volunteer Please click here to download the necessary form. For liability purposes, children without a waiver will not be able to volunteer. Generally speaking, most volunteer jobs are only suitable for children ages 14 and up.
