Greetings MN RIMS Members and Associates, The board and committees have been meeting over the summer to refine the Chapter’s goals and to plan the events. For your information, I have included the Chapter’s [draft] goals for 2014-15 : 1. Deliver benefits of value to the diverse MN RIMS members to grow participation and membership. -- This will be achieved through innovative approaches and ideas, alignment with the mission of MN RIMS, and coordination across committees -- Develop a game plan to attract and engage younger members of the MN Risk Management Community 2. Leverage National RIMS’ resources to benefit local members and foster stronger relationship with National RIMS and 3. Implement administrative support to enhance delivery of services to members and support Chapter Board, Officers and Committee Chairs in execution of their duties 4. Develop and execute a communication plan to ensure our Officers, Board and Committees effectively engage with members 5. Revise Chapter by-laws as needed 6. Develop succession plan for Board, Officer, and Committee leadership. The Program Committee, led by Karen Markowksi, is planning a great list of topics for the monthly meetings (they occur the 3rd Tuesday of the month). Supporting goal 2 noted above, the September monthly meeting will highlight tools and resources recently made available on the RIMS website for managing international programs. You can register for the September meeting at: http://minnesota.rims.org/home. The Seminar Committee, led by Steve Slette, is planning a robust curriculum for the big event on January 29th, 2015. You will soon receive “hold the date” information and registration materials. Each committee is working with the administrative support firm hired to assist; the goal with the securing the service was to relieve the chapter’s members of some tasks so they can focus their energy on strategy and planning. Kathy Schwiekart is leading the effort to refine the Chapter’s Communication committee. We hope to leverage new functionality in National RIM’s contact management tool and at the same time enhance the MN RIMS brand. Since the AGM in May you should have received emails from the chapter (MNRIMS@gmail.com) – the content included an invitation to join a committee, the Chapter President’s July and August letters, and the notice of the September 16th monthly meeting. If you have not received the emails please make sure that the chapter’s email address is on your company’s approved “white” list; some companies do filter gmail mass mailings as SPAM - you won’t want to miss out on Chapter events! We encourage Members and Associates to participate in Committees – it is a great way to deepen your network! We look forward to seeing you at the September meeting.
