We are looking for deputy members who have begun the process of embedding ERM in their organizations for informal benchmarking purposes. SLF has been working at this for a couple of years and would like to share information/development plans with others in both financial and non-financial institutions. ------------------------------- Susan Meltzer Sun Life Financial Asst. I would be interested in any governmental body that is attempting to install enterprise risk management within an elected government that contains three separate, autonomous branches--executive, judicial and legislative. I am especially interested in legislation, ordinances, MOUs and other devices to coordinate between the branches, as well as executive orders for the executive. Other areas of interest include: cost allocation reconciling state, federal and local funds; benchmarking, cost assessing and budgeting. ------------------------------- Don LeMond Division of Risk Mgmt. Dept. of the Treasury Commonwealth of Virginia Director, Division of Risk Management -------------------------------

We implemented an ERM program three years ago and have been improving it since. I am willing to participate in a benchmarking endeavor and this information may be useful at a high level. In addition to benchmarking, we may wish to consider sharing out program details. Learning about the successes and failures from companies that have implemented an ERM program, may be useful. To be effective, we probably need to interactively discuss our programs. I would be interested in learning from other members whether there is any interest in a deputies only meeting for a half-day (or whole day) and discuss what companies are doing with ERM. Maybe this could be added to the beginning of the annual conference somehow or have a separate session somewhere in the country that's easy to get to. I'm located in Jacksonville Florida and might be a tempting venue for a one day meeting - especially to my ice and snow bound colleagues in the Northern states. I look forward to comments from others. ------------------------------- John Phelps Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. Director of Risk Management -------------------------------
