  • Spokane RIMS Chapter Meeting - Thursday, May 14th, 2026

    Good Afternoon,

    Please confirm that you will be attending the Spokane RIMS Chapter Meeting on Thursday, May 14th, 2026 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm.  The meeting will be held at the Enduris Offices Training Facility – Located at: 1610 S. Technology Boulevard, Suite 100 Spokane, WA 99224.

    Rob Hooper will be presenting on lithium battery safety.

    Rob Hooper, CSP, is a Board-Certified Safety Professional with nearly 40 years of experience in environmental health and safety (EHS) programs. Before entering the EHS field, he was a senior manufacturing engineer in the high-tech/electronics industry. Rob also worked with FEMA as a disaster safety officer reporting to the Federal Coordinating Officer. He has been involved in industrial emergency/disaster planning and preparedness as well as emergency response for over 30 years, both as a responder and an emergency response team leader. He is a volunteer Firefighter with the West Pend Oreille Fire District in Priest River, Idaho, and in Broadwater County Rural Fire in Townsend, MT. He holds a technician Amateur Ham Radio License and a GMRS radio license. He has a passion for training people in how to become more prepared for and resilient to the effects of disasters and emergencies.

    Speaker will be Rich Cuff, Managing Director of Marsh, presenting on Basics of Parametric Insurance.

    Bio for Rich Cuff:

    Rich Cuff is a client executive in Marsh’s Seattle office, responsible for business development, risk assessments, overall insurance program design, troubleshooting and delivery of risk management solutions to Marsh clients within a variety of industries. An active member of the Life Sciences Industry Practice and the Communications, Media & Technology Industry Practice in the West region, Rich provides advice and guidance to clients and colleagues in his region as well as throughout the Marsh family. His risk specialties include Financial/Professional Liability Insurance, Technology and Life Sciences Industry risk, global/multinational risk, captive insurance feasibility, product liability/recall risk and public company directors and officers risk.

    Topic - Data Driven Risk Management

    Bio - Steve Rodell is a Senior Sales Executive with Origami Risk.  Steve works closely with risk leaders to modernize their programs and improve decision‑making through practical, business‑focused technology solutions. With extensive experience across industries, he brings a consultative approach that helps organizations simplify processes, strengthen data quality, and build scalable frameworks for long-term risk improvement.

    Based in Chicago, Steve partners with executives, risk managers, and operational teams to navigate evolving challenges—from claims optimization, values collection,  to enterprise risk initiatives—always with an eye toward delivering measurable results. 

    Alric Balka is the Director of Operations at Enduris Washington and has worked in the pooling industry for 19 years. Enduris is a special purpose district risk pool in Washington state that provides property and liability coverage and risk management services to approx. 500 public entities throughout Washington. Alric has worked in Origami since 2018 when Enduris initially implemented the system, and continues as an administrator for their daily use and enhancements.

    Lunch will be catered by High Nooner. ** PLEASE NOTE - Lunch prices are now $25 dollars**
