Rotator cuff injuries are common yet complex musculoskeletal issues that can significantly affect mobility and quality of life for the injured worker.
Traditionally, treatment has focused on conservative methods such as rest, physical therapy, and medications. However, as understanding of these injuries has evolved, advanced treatment options have emerged, offering new hope for injured workers seeking a full recovery. The goal of this presentation is to understand the natural history of rotator cuff injuries/tears and learn about the current state of the art options with both non-operative and operative treatment.
Minimally invasive surgical techniques and regenerative medicine approaches have enabled precise repairs, and leverage the body’s natural healing processes to enhance tendon regeneration. Complementing these innovative interventions are advances in surgical repair, such as double row compression techniques and utilization of biologic scaffolds to not only stimulate healing but also to protect the repaired tendon. By integrating these advanced treatment modalities, clinicians can provide more comprehensive care for rotator cuff injuries, with the goals of promoting faster recovery and a return to daily activities and work function.
During this presentation, we will take a look at:
- The anatomy of the rotator cuff;
- Their biomechanics and function;
- The natural progress of tears and related injuries;
- Treatment options.
This presentation will include arthroscopic videos and illustrations supplementing case histories.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Panchal has lived in several major metropolitan areas across the U.S. due to his training. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, playing sports, reading, and traveling with his wife. Together, they are grateful to live and work in the Palm Beach County area, where Dr. Panchal serves as the head team physician for Keiser University athletics.
Testimonial:
“Dr. Anand Panchal spent one year at Triangle Orthopaedics in Durham, North Carolina, doing a fellowship in complex shoulder, elbow, and knee surgery. During this time, he assisted successfully, and often was the primary surgeon, on many of the most difficult upper extremity surgeries one could envision. I have no doubt he is fully qualified to handle anything that comes his way in Florida, helping people with difficult, complex upper extremity injuries and allowing them to recover fully.”
