Scott Clark served as the the risk and benefits officer at the school board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, where he created strategic risk programs for the 4th largest school board in the nation for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 2016.  He is now an Senior Area Vice President for Claim Advocacy for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. where he works with existing and prospective clients to manage their total cost of risk through strategic risk management programs and claim analyses.Mr. Clark received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Illinois, College of Commerce. He obtained his Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) designation from the Insurance Institute of America and his Certified Educational Risk Manager accreditation from the State of Florida.Mr. Clark has been a member of the Florida Educational Risk Managers Association (FERMA) since 1989, serving as President from 1991-1992. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003, and a FERMA Hall of Fame Award in 2010. In 2007, Mr. Clark was named to Business Insurance Magazine’s Risk Manager of the Year Honor Roll.Mr. Clark served as Global President of RIMS in 2011 having served on RIMS board from 2000 through 2012 in various capacities before becoming President, including Treasurer and Secretary. He has been a member of the Society since 1987 has served on RIMS Member & Chapter Services and RIMS Safety and Health Committee. He is a founder of RIMS Greater Miami Chapter where he served as president from 1992-1993, 2003-2004 and 2009-2010. He has been the Chair of the Florida Joint Chapters Conference four times, serving in 1997, 2004, 2010 and 2016. He has received a number of awards from RIMS, including  being the recipient of the Harry & Dorothy Goodell Award in 2017.  He has worked for many years with the Council of Great City Schools, where he provides direction and advice on Risk Management issues in urban public education.  He currently serves on the Executive Board for the Risk Management and Insurance Program at Florida State University and is a member of the Board of Trustees for RIMS' Political Action Committee, RiskPac.Designation: AAI
