Craig McAllister is Assistant Vice President, Risk Management at the University of Miami. He had previously spent 18 years at Cornell University in risk management. His current duties include providing strategic risk management advice, enterprise risk management, training, and consultation to the academic, medical and operating units of the University. His team is responsible for the procurement and management of the university insurance portfolio, loss control, risk advice and property, liability and workers' compensation claims. Mr. McAllister has presented at many national conferences on varied higher education-focused topics. Mr. McAllister is a past president of the Upstate New York Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and is currently a director of the Greater Miami RIMS Chapter. He has served as a board member for the University Risk Management and Insurance Association since 2017. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, along with the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and the Associate in Claims (AIC).
