After a distinguished 38-year career at Miami Dade College, I transitioned to a dynamic role at Leon Medical Centers, LLC, where I specialize in insurance and risk management. In this capacity, I report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and am responsible for navigating the complexities of risk mitigation as the company continues to evolve and expand. My core responsibilities include managing the company’s comprehensive commercial insurance portfolio, covering areas such as Property & Casualty, Directors & Officers, Fiduciary, Cyber, General Liability, and Medical Malpractice/Professional Liability.
Building on my background in library science and attention to detail, I successfully adapted to the challenges of this new field, earning my 4-40 insurance license. I am privileged to contribute to an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those we serve, aligning with my personal mission to create a positive impact within the community.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I take great pride in supporting the philanthropic efforts of the Leon family, particularly in our fundraising initiatives for La Liga Contra el Cancer. This cause is deeply personal to me, as I have lost several family members to cancer. My approach to every role is grounded in a commitment to excellence, a passion for my work, and a constant drive to make meaningful, lasting improvements.
