Dylan Lauzon, currently acting as the Director of Risk Management at the Port of Portland, was first introduced to risk management during his time as a Financial Advisor where he used diversification and insurance to help grow and protect his clients financial assets. Drawing upon his experience in risk management and insurance, Dylan joined Big 5 Sporting Goods as a risk analyst tasked with managing the company's insurance program. During his eight years with Big 5, Dylan added claims management, risk management, business continuity planning, vendor compliance, and enterprise risk management to his list of responsibilities and earned both the Associate in Risk Management and Associate in Enterprise Risk Management designations. At the annual conference in Vancouver, Canada, RIMS identified Dylan as the risk manager who obtained the highest academic average for all three examinations in the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) Program and presented him with the Cristy Award. Following his time at Big 5, Dylan joined Portland General Electric and was responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the PGEs ERM program. Dylan earned his MBA in 2017 and is currently the Chair of RIMS' Certified Risk Management Professional Certification Commission.
