Tamieka Weeks is the Director of Global Risk Management & Insurance for Southwire Company headquartered in Carrollton, Georgia. She leads insurance procurement and risk operations, implementing effective risk treatment strategies and overseeing processes such as claims oversight. Her program management responsibilities span casualty, international, marine cargo liability, management liability, professional liability, property, and loss control. Additional areas of her responsibility include risk financing and budgeting, contract and lease review, and M&A risk management during due diligence.
She is passionate about fostering a proactive risk culture and leveraging data-driven strategies to mitigate organizational exposure. Tamieka is committed to empowering cross-functional collaboration to drive innovative solutions that strengthen enterprise resilience.
Tamieka earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia and is currently serving her third term on the Terry College of Business Alumni Board. She also served on the Atlanta RIMS Chapter Board of Directors for eight years, including a two-year term as Chapter President in 2020 and 2021.
In 2025, Tamieka received the prestigious Walter H. Buce Jr. Memorial Award as Insurance and Risk Management Professional of the Year from the RIMS Atlanta Chapter. She also holds industry designations including AIC, AIS, and ARM-E.
