As the University Partnerships Director for the Spencer Educational Foundation, I have the privilege of collaborating with colleges, universities, nonprofits, and donor partners to cultivate next-generation Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) talent. My work includes overseeing our Merit-Based Scholarships Program and building strong relationships around RMI Course and Program Development, as well as Experiential Learning initiatives, including General Grants and Marsh-sponsored Risk Manager on Campus events.
In 2024 and 2025, I was excited to help manage more than 80% of Spencer’s program-related spend, which led to record awards and significant growth in our impact. Spencer’s overarching goal is to support students, faculty, donors, and community stakeholders while building a robust pipeline of RMI talent.
Prior to joining Spencer, I spent five years in higher education at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business, where I had the opportunity to teach, mentor, and support students in many ways. Highlights from my time there include:
- Receiving an Exemplary Faculty Award, the most comprehensive recognition for a full-time faculty member.
- Earning an Innovations in Teaching & Learning Award for engaging with current events such as national anthem kneeling protests and their first amendment implications.
- Securing various grants focused on InsurTech.
- Publishing research in top-tier law and insurance journals.
- Advising Barney’s Spencer-RIMS Risk Management Challenge Team to a first-place finish in 2020/21 and a top-eight finish in 2021/22.
Earlier in my career, I spent two decades in Fortune 200 and legal environments, including global management of legacy Chubb's Cybersecurity and Media & Entertainment portfolios. I also led multiple lines of Professional Liability business from a claims perspective and taught continuing education courses to agents, brokers, and risk managers for over a dozen years.
Whether you’re a faculty member, donor, or industry professional, your involvement can truly make a difference. Together, we can empower the next generation of RMI leaders. If you have any ideas or would like to discuss how you can be involved, I would be delighted to connect—please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your interest and support.
