We hope to see you at the next Utah Chapter RIMS luncheon, Thursday May 14h at Little America beginning at 11:30 a.m. The presenter is Mark Marshall, Director of Risk Management, Extra Space Storage. He will be speaking on, "Helping others in our organizations use risk related data to reduce costs and when possibly, creating a profit."
Speaker Bio:
Mark Marshall joined Extra Space Storage, in July of 2005 to create a risk management department. He has over 19 years of experience in risk related duties, including placement of insurance, safety, loss control, claims management and oversight of complex property and casualty insurance programs. He is working on programs to trying to protect and cover over 1,080 properties throughout the United States classified as owned, joint venture, and managed by Extra Space. He helped create and currently directs a large captive insurance program offering insurance to customers of Extra Space.
Prior to joining Extra Space Storage, he worked as Director of Risk Management for SOS Staffing, a regional staffing company, gaining experience evaluating a wide variety of work related risks, helping reduce injury to workers provided to thousands of different companies.
He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Finance and holds the designation of Certified Risk Manager (CRM). He served as president of the Utah Chapter of Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
