The Corporate Insurance Department is responsible for securing a global insurance program and providing insurance expertise for State Street Corporation.  The Department is looking for a motivated insurance expert to manage State Street’s international insurance needs and insurance Captive duties.  The International Insurance and Captive Manager will be responsible for securing and monitoring all lines of insurance in coordination with State Street’s global footprint and the management of an insurance Captive.  The Corporate Insurance Department is comprised of highly experienced individuals with Management and Professional Liability and Property and Casualty backgrounds.  This cohesive team works closely together to cross-train and provide support on all insurance coverages.  In addition to placing an international insurance program and supporting the insurance Captive, the International Insurance Manager will be responsible for reviewing contracts, recommending vendor insurance requirements and managing relationships with the insurance brokerage and underwriting community.

We are currently recruiting for an Insurance Manager to be located at our corporate office in
Waltham, MA. This position has the potential to provide a hybrid working arrangement, working at our
corporate office and remotely. During the onboarding and initial training period, this position requires
onsite training and face to face meetings to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external
business partners.


Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, the Insurance Manager will be
responsible for coordinating Benchmark’s risk financing and insurance placement efforts.
Responsibilities include:


 Working with internal business partners and stakeholders, this position will gather data and
information to prepare applications and supporting documentation for all lines of coverage to
coincide with Benchmark’s various insurance renewal cycles.
 Monitor and maintain all corporate insurance policies (approximately 30) to ensure coverage for
exposures including GL, PL, Auto, XS, Comp, D&O, E&O, EPL, Crime, Fiduciary, Property,
Pollution, Cyber, and others.
 Engage and manage key industry relationships including brokers, underwriters, actuaries,
consultants, third-party Managers.
 Assist evaluation of Total Cost of Risk and development of Risk Management Budget.
 Track and monitor insurance schedules and related premiums; review actuarial estimations
 Assist in identifying risk exposures and analyzing and classifying risks.
 Assist team to implement programs and policies to mitigate risks (loss prevention, loss control);
research and report on loss trends.
 Evaluate exposures and draft insurance requirements for various contractual engagements;
maintain database of insurance requirements templates; oversee Certificate of Insurance
program and request certificates from vendors and independent contractors as needed.
 Assist team with development and implementation of the Company’s risk management policies
and procedures and assist communities with compliance efforts.
 Assist in the preparation of 1st party claim recoveries. Administer the Company’s Enterprise Risk
Management Information System (ERM) and produce regular reports. Assist preparation of
presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.

 Occasional travel which may include overnights to visit New England communities/locations
 May include overnight travel to key market partners (London, Bermuda, New York, Chicago, etc)
 Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors’ degree required (concentration in Business, Finance or Risk Management preferred)
• 5 or more years of relevant experience as a risk manager, insurance Manager, property/casualty
analyst or underwriter, insurance broker or other related position in the property/casualty
industry
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office
• ARM or CPCU designation or licensed insurance broker a plus
• Considerable experience in Casualty Markets, Med Mal a plus
• Superior analytical, quantitative, and creative problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of financial analysis technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Occasional overnight travel to visit New England communities/locations
• Occasional travel to key markets partners (London, Bermuda, New York, Chicago, etc.)
