If you are looking to kill time when you are bored, you should try bumping into anime series. Anime series are so entertaining and have a range of catalogs with every genre you can find.

There are action anime series like Naruto Shippuden, science fiction (sci-fi) like Dorohedoro, religious mythology like Blood of Zeus, and many more. So, there is a little bit of everything for everybody. Now, here are the best anime series out there right now.

Naruto Shippuden

You might have heard of it or seen it, but in case you haven’t, it’s the anime with the ninja who wears an orange tracksuit. The anime stars a young ninja (Naruto) looking to prove himself as the greatest fighter and head of his village. The series has two plots.

One is when he is a kid and the second one is when he is a teen. The original manga series (written by Masashi Kishimoto) has 200 episodes and the Shippuden spin-off has 500 episodes (it ended in 2017). Thus, this is the perfect action anime series for you if that’s what you are looking for.

Something to note: Naruto has many filler episodes. You must look for the Naruto Shippuden filler percentage on in case you want to avoid them.

Blood of Zeus

The series is one of the best anime that came out in 2020. The series received high praises from many critics, with IMBD giving it an above-average rating of 7.6 out of 10. Although Mua films produced it, the anime series is a Greek plot that is contrary to most anime series.

The series stars a young man named Heron, whom he later learns that he is the son of the great Greek God “Zeus” and later plays the hero in the upcoming war between the gods and the titans. The series has themes like love, betrayal, infidelity, religion, and others. The series is one the most successful non-Japanese manga out there. And its success prompted Netflix to launch 40 other anime series that will air out in the coming years.

Attack on Titan

Another interesting anime series is “Attack on Titan.” The series has a Japanese plot, unlike the Blood of Zeus.

The series begins when a titan enters the human world by breaching the wall (like the one in Wayward Pines and Game of Thrones), leading to a long-lasting battle between the humans and them. The anime series also focuses on a character named Eren Yeager, who is part of the military task force battling the titans.

Beastars is a very different kind of anime. As many anime fiction stories base their characters on humans and fictional beings, this anime focuses primarily on animals. The anime series has a crime genre, with herbivores and carnivores playing the two opposing sides.

The plot begins with a wolf named Legoshi, whom other animals fear due to his carnivore attributes except for a bunny named Haru, who later falls in love with him. The anime might be a bit kiddish, but it is interesting to watch.

Death Note

Death Note is one of the most interesting anime that has ever come out. What makes it interesting is how it fuses the real world with Japanese mythology. The plot begins when a Shinigami intentionally drops his death book on earth that later finds its way to Light Yagami. The series received high praises from fans and critics, which led to its movie in 2017. It is one of the great anime that you should put on top of your watchlist.
