The Canadian Capital Region membership includes risk and insurance management professionals from a broad range of industries (both public and private sector) across the Eastern Ontario/Canadian Capital Region. 

Our Chapter generally meets once a month, from September through to May, with the exception of either January or February, when we take our winter break.

  • Rider University RMOC Grant

    The Spencer Educational Foundation Risk Manager on Campus Program provides grants for universities to host practicing risk managers for 1-3 day residencies, connecting students with industry professionals for hands-on career exposure in Risk Management & Insurance through lectures, panels, and networking. 
     
    NJ RIMS is proud to be funding this year’s RMOC grant at Rider University as we work together to grow the profession.

  • December Holiday Meeting

    Our December Holiday Meeting featuring the Jeopardy Insurance Challenge was an absolute success! Special thanks to our subject matter experts, Nicholas Trent (Aon), Chris Keegan (Brown & Brown), Jason Ross (Lockton), Alyssa Wade (Marsh) & Diane Grand (ECIB) for sharing your time, and your knowledge. Thanks also to the NJ RIMS Board (bottom right) for another successful year supporting our members!

  • Cyber Risk & Insurance Update

    The November NJ RIMS session, focusing on Cyber Risk & Insurance, featured a distinguished expert panel comprised of Matt Kuhn (Ascot Group), Fred Giordano (K&L Gates), and Navarone Dozier, (Aon). The panel engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the evolution of Cyber insurance. They also examined the current risk landscape, recent litigation, and regulatory trends. The audience benefited from perspectives from the underwriting, brokerage, and legal sectors.

    But wait, there’s more! Our food drive to benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry Network collected over 200 pounds of food and $215 in cash donations. The NJ RIMS Board (bottom photo) thanks everyone who participated for your generous donations.

  • Charity Golf / Pickleball Event

  • Thank you Dr. Reeves for a most insightful presentation!

    Dr. Arin Reeves’ presentation “Effective Communication Strategies to Bridge Generational Differences”, hosted by a joint meeting of the Delaware Valley and New Jersey RIMS chapters, was very well received by all those in attendance.  A handout from Dr. Reeves presentation is posted in the "Past Meeting Presentations" box to the right.

  • IICF Month of Giving Volunteer Opportunity

    As a proud supporter of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, the NJ RIMS Chapter is excited to share this opportunity for you and/or your company to volunteer right here in New Jersey!

    As part of the IICF Month of Giving, they are extending an invitation to a cross-company volunteer day with 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮’𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄-𝗮-𝗥𝗼𝘄 (𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗥), one of their Northeast Division grantees. Volunteers will help harvest fresh produce that directly supports local hunger relief.

    This opportunity can host up to 300 volunteers, making it one of the IICF's largest service events! You are encouraged to join if you’re nearby and to spread the word with colleagues or other companies in the area.

  • NJ RIMS Commits $30,000 to IICF

    May 28, 2025 - The New Jersey RIMS Chapter has made a three-year commitment totaling $30,000 to the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF). 

    For more than thirty years, the IICF has been uniting the collective strength of the insurance industry in providing grants, volunteer service, and leadership in the communities where we live and work.

  • RIMS Legislative Summit

    On March 19-20 NJ RIMS Board Member and Advocacy Ambassador Justin Colletti  participated in the RIMS Legislative Summit in Washington, DC.  While there, he met with staffers and policy advisors to NJ Senators Booker and Kim, and NJ Representatives Pallone, Conaway, and Sherrill to express our position on issues of concern to the risk management community.
