Torquka Johnson Haggerty is a Risk Management professional with over 25 years of multi-line claims and risk management experience with an emphasis on workers compensation,contractual risk, leave management and employment related matters. She has had an extensive career in the insurance industry and private sector. She currently serves as the Director of Risk Management and Safety with a large national driver staffing company. Torquka is a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
Outside of her professional role, she has been an avid community servant for almost nine years. She serves as the current President of the Belmont Bay Golf Villa Condo Board of Directors in Woodbridge, VA. She previously served as the Chairperson of Belmont Bays Homeowners Association Covenants Committee.
In her role as a board member, she works diligently to preserve and enhance the community in which she lives. She was particularly sought out to serve by members of the community because of her expertise in contractual negotiations and common sense approach to problem solving at a time when builder and developer issues appeared to threaten the communitys property values during the peak of the recent economic recession.
Torquka s steadfast and diligent efforts to hold builders accountable for their poor workmanship resulted in getting contractual commitments to correct and upgrade various aspects of the community buildings in excess of $350k thousand dollars, saving this cost for her community. As a member of the board she has diligently worked to keep delinquency rates for assessments low. The communitys rate fell from 19% to 2% during the last eight years. As a result, the Belmont Bay Golf Villa Condos reserves are highest with the entire Belmont Bay community.
