Alex has over 28 years of Construction risk management and construction operations experience. Currently he is the Vice President in charge of Risk Management for Messer Construction Co. In this role he manages all types of Enterprise Risk, Strategic Risk, Project Risk and Financial Risk. In addition he serves as the President of ValuePath Insurance Company LLC, a Captive Insurance Co.
Messer specializes in mid to large complex projects and has 10 offices in five states. Prior to this role he managed a significant book of construction risk for Zurich North America Insurance Co. in New York, New York. Insurance program experience includes contractor controlled insurance programs (CCIPs), Contractor Default Insurance (Subguard), environmental, property and casualty. Past construction operations experience includes project management of a wide array of manufacturing, hospital, retail, and multi-story office projects. Responsibilities included safety and risk management, management of projects to assure accordance with plans & specifications, schedule, budgeting, and supervision of project personnel and subcontractors.
