“Why Risk Management Matters for Every Organization"
Risk management is no longer just a protective function. It is a strategic tool that helps organizations anticipate challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve their goals. This panel of nonprofit leaders will discuss how proactive risk management supports organizational resilience, mission delivery, and long-term success. Through real-world examples and practical insights, attendees will gain a broader understanding of how risk management principles can be applied across organizations of any size, sector, or industry.

Will Pekrul, Vice President of Property and Casualty at USI Insurance Services for 6 years
Will is an experienced commercial insurance and risk management professional with deep expertise serving organizations in the healthcare, social services, nonprofit, and manufacturing sectors. He specializes in helping clients navigate complex risk exposures through tailored insurance and risk management strategies, including workers' compensation, property, general liability, and claims management programs. With more than a decade of experience in insurance, consulting, and risk management, Will combines analytical insight, strategic planning, and a client-focused approach to deliver solutions that create measurable business impact. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and a Management Liability Insurance Specialist, and he is also actively involved in community service and educational leadership through his volunteer and board work.

Jason Letendre, Vice President of Risk Management at YMCA Greater Rochester for 13 years
Jason brings nearly three decades of leadership experience in risk management, nonprofit operations, and community-focused organizations. In his current role, he oversees the YMCA's risk management, insurance, and safety programs, helping ensure the organization can safely and effectively deliver its mission throughout the Greater Rochester community. Prior to joining the YMCA leadership team, Jason spent more than 12 years with The Redwoods Group, where he advised nonprofit organizations across the United States on risk management strategies and led teams supporting clients ranging from small community organizations to large, complex enterprises. With deep expertise in enterprise risk management, insurance, safety, and nonprofit leadership, Jason offers a unique perspective on protecting organizations while enabling them to grow and serve their communities.

Brandon Kasperkoski, Grants, Technology & Innovation Manager at Veterans Outreach Center for 10 years
Brandon is an Army veteran whose distinguished military career spans 20 years, including seven years on active duty and 13 years in the Army Reserve. Brandon deployed to Afghanistan twice as an Infantryman and later broadened his expertise by serving as both a Human Resources Specialist and an Automated Logistical Specialist. Following his studies in Business Administration, he was selected to participate in the inaugural Artificial Intelligence & Business cohort at the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship, where he developed advanced knowledge at the intersection of technology and business strategy. Today, Brandon leverages his military leadership, operational experience, and emerging technology expertise to manage Veterans Outreach Center's grant opportunities, AI implementation strategy, and organizational technology needs, helping drive innovation and impact in support of the veteran community.
